Michael Frankenstein v Vince Frankenstein on Ofsted's and Offa's Dichotomy

21 Feb

Consider the case of the two Frankensteins and their creations in their own image.

Michael's creature, although benign in appearance, is rejected by the unions and wanders the land with its frightening head of Ofsted, striking terror into the hearts of teachers, to the applause of its creator and the watching tabloids.

Vince's creature, although benign in appearance, is rejected by the Committee and wanders the land with its frightening head of Offa, striking terror into the hearts of certain universities, MPs, The Daily Telegraph and (it is rumoured) Michael who (allegedly) secretly desires Vince's laboratory.

Vince's assistant, 'Two Brains' David (presumably the result of an earlier experiment), emulates Victor Frankenstein and his creation by fleeing to the polar regions (although Antarctica rather than the Arctic) to avoid attention.

Like Victor, will one Modern Prometheus ultimately be destroyed by the creature it has created?
